The top pickups for Week 1, ranked by priority with FAAB guidance so you can bid with confidence.
Not every pickup is worth the same bid. Work through this order before you submit claims.
A player who immediately upgrades your starting lineup is worth a real bid. A player who only adds bench depth is worth a small bid or none at all.
Temporary fill-ins created by a one-week injury are streamers, not stashes. A player who takes over a role because of a long-term injury or a depth chart change is worth more.
Check the upcoming schedule. A pickup with soft matchups over the next month holds value well beyond this week.
In deep leagues, spend more aggressively. In shallow leagues, prioritize only the top one or two names and let the rest pass.

Bid ranges below assume a standard 12-team league with a $100 budget. Scale up in deeper leagues and down in shallow leagues.
The most common FAAB mistake is overpaying for a one-week streamer while letting a season-long starter go for a few dollars more. Bid on role, not on last week's box score.
The top pickups are the players who gained a starting role or a significant usage bump because of an injury, a depth chart change, or a breakout performance. This page is updated with specific names and bid ranges as news develops during the week.
Bid according to the role, not the box score. An immediate starter is worth 15-30% of your remaining budget in a 12-team league, while a speculative stash is worth 5-12%. Streamers should rarely cost more than a few percent.
Only drop a player who is expected to miss the remainder of the season, or when you are certain he will not return in time to matter. For short-term injuries, use an IR slot if your league offers one rather than dropping him outright.
Most leagues run waivers early Wednesday morning, with a second run early Saturday. Confirm your league settings, and submit claims before the deadline since bids cannot be edited afterward.
